Should you hire freelancers to help you with your FBA business?

In the greatest sequel ever made, D2 Mighty Ducks, a ragtag group of dreamers comes together with their special skills (à la knuckle-puck) and ends up defeating the odds to win it all.

Your amazon company should be no different, except for the drunk Emilio driving onto a frozen lake full of kids. The fact is, you’re Gordon Bombay, and you can’t defeat Iceland alone. You should find people who have relevant specialized skills and outsource some of your work to them.

1 in 5 Amazon sellers believe that hiring employees and freelancers is a major factor in their success. So step away from being the beautiful micromanager you are, and share the work.

And I’m not saying to hire just anyone. We know your Uncle Dan “used to do stuff with computers,” but Uncle Dan just won’t cut it here.

It is easy to find and hire specialized, knuckle-puck wielding freelancers who will take the jobs that you need help with and/or hate the most off your plate. Check out Freeup, Upwork, and Jungle Scout Market to see the pre-vetted, non-Uncle Dan’s out there.

You can hire freelancers or virtual assistants for one-off projects, consulting, or a specific aspect of your business.

You’re thinking to yourself, “I’m a lone wolf; I don’t need help.” Sure, if you want to stay small. But if you want to grow your business and, I don’t know, have a life, add some wolves to your pack. You can’t have a one-man Bash Bros., it just doesn’t work!

Hiring a freelancer saves you time, lends you areas of expertise, and usually saves you money.

What kinds of tasks do people hire freelancers for?

  • Customer service and feedback (because talking to people stresses me out)
  • Copywriting
  • PPC
  • Inventory Management
  • Advertising

So remember, as individuals, we are adequate. But everything’s better when ducks fly together.
