Capitalize on the 35% of Amazon purchases that come from product recommendations using Amazon’s Virtual Bundles

You know what’s better than one shot of the Moderna vaccine? Two. You know what’s better than one product on Amazon? Two. Well, two to five. In a bundle. Like tacos!

Amazon sellers have been able to bundle similar or complementary products together for a while, but in 2020, Amazon created a new feature called Virtual Bundles. It allows sellers to bundle two to five products without the hassle of having to package them together, giving stoners a more efficient way of ordering pop tarts and Rick and Morty memorabilia.

With Virtual Bundles, Amazon does the work for you and bundles the products together from your inventory. Amazon will automatically update the quantities based on the availability of the lowest stock item in your bundle.

If you notice that two or more of your products are frequently bought together, this feature allows for both ASIN’s to exist alongside a third ASIN that would sell them together. It also allows you to get more bang for your buck with keywords, and in this economy those bangs aren’t cheap.

Using their keyword tracker, Helium10 noted that when a bundle was added that included an item that was doing well for a particular keyword, that bundle was immediately doing well in search page positioning. It’s like giving your product a hot friend to build its confidence. Like tacos!

Right now, Virtual Bundling is only an option for those with Brand Registry 2.0 (not Sponsored Products), and you cannot run regular PPC to these ASIN’s. However, that will probably change as this feature becomes more popular. Also, the cost of the bundle cannot be more than the cost of the individual parts. Because running a 2-for-3 sale is misleading and kind of a dick move!

But other than that, it seems like this new feature could be a game changer for sellers.

Hot tips for bundling:

  • Create a unique A+ content page for your bundles.
  • Discount bundles to add some buyer incentive.
  • Choose your best selling ASIN as the main component of the bundles.

Now bundle up for the blizzard of cash heading your way!
